Audit and accounts manager

Your role will include the management of the workflow through the audit and accounts department as well as accounts work undertaken by other members of staff; supervision and training, where necessary, of the accounts assistants to enable them to complete their work efficiently; managing audit fieldwork and conducting the audits, along with the audit assistant; completion of accounts preparation work and any other work necessary to aid workflow through the department; attending corporate events, when required.

You will report directly to the partners and your direct line manager will be the audit and accounts partner.

We expect you to be:

  • Capable of managing a department and supervising staff
  • Organised and able to prioritise your work
  • Proficient at audit and accounts preparation work
  • Professional in your relationships with other staff members and clients
  • A good communicator and listener
  • Proactive in terms of improving workflow management and efficiency
  • Knowledgeable on cloud bookkeeping software

You will be working with the following software packages:

  • Digita accounts, tax and practice management
  • Xero
  • Microsoft office (mainly excel and word)
  • Sage line 50
  • Sage accounts production advanced
