Business services

Every business owner needs a team of professionals in the background who provide continuous support and advice. That's what we are here to do.

Through years of commitment to our business clients we have developed a wide range of skills and services designed to improve business performance and profitability.

Audit

Though business owners traditionally regard the annual audit and preparation of annual accounts as a cost centre - a necessary evil that adds no value to the business - we strive to transform it into a profit centre.

Bookkeeping & accounting

We can relieve you and your staff of an enormous burden by taking care of all your bookkeeping and accounting needs, including the preparation of your annual accounts.

Business planning

Everyone knows that a successful business must plan ahead, but all too often the pressures of keeping the business going on a daily basis mean that strategic planning is not given the attention it needs.

Business start-up

Most people who start up in business do so because they have a good business proposition and the enterprise and commitment to see it through, not because they are experts in the legal, financial, and fiscal aspects of running a business.

Charities

The environment in which charities operate is experiencing continuous and rapid change. This leads to opportunities for charities to develop but can also lead to increased administration and regulatory burdens.

Company secretarial

The last thing you need as a busy business owner is to use up valuable time and resources making sure you are complying with the Companies Act.

Corporate finance

Whether yours is a new or a mature business, ensuring that you have the necessary finance is essential for achieving your objectives.

Corporate recovery

It is a well known fact that many business failures could have been avoided if the owners had taken the right advice at the right time.

Corporate tax planning

Corporation tax represents a substantial part of your trading costs. Moreover, the increased reporting obligations, robust investigation policies on the part of the tax authorities, and harsher penalties for non-compliance mean that an undue amount of your time and resources can be taken up collecting revenue for the Government.

Grant Audits

Kara Williams has eight years experience in audit and has performed a number of grant audits including RSA, Welsh Assembly Government and WEFO grants.

Payroll

Administering your payroll can be time consuming and burdensome, diverting energy and resources from the core activities of your business. And the task is made all the more difficult by the growing complexity of taxation and employment legislation and the accompanying regime of penalties for non-compliance.

VAT

Value added tax is one of the most complex and onerous tax regimes imposed on business - so complex that many businesses inadvertently overpay or underpay VAT.

R and D

At Ellis Lloyd Jones we understand the importance of innovation for businesses to prosper. Because of this we offer a comprehensive R&D tax credit claim and advice service.

Solicitors' Accounts Rules

Under rule 35 of the Solicitors Accounts Rules (amended 31 March 2009) all solicitors who deal with client money are required to undergo an SAR audit on an annual basis by a firm of specialist solicitor accountants.
